A true Greek meal isn’t complete without Choriatiki. This Greek Salad recipe takes less than 10 minutes to make and is a perfect starter or side dish. Delicious with Greek mixed grill!

Greek Salad (Choriatiki)

  • 2 to 3 large tomatoes
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • Feta cheese, 1 slab
  • 12 black or Kalamata olives
  • Sea salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • Oregano, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • Sugar, to taste
  1. Peel and deseed the cucumber. Cut it into cubes or slices (whatever you prefer)
  2. Deseed and cut the bell pepper.
  3. Cube the tomatoes.
  4. Finely slice the red onion.
  5. Divide the cucumber, bell pepper, tomatoes and red onion over 4 plates.
  6. Crumble the feta and divide over plates.
  7. For the vinaigrette: Mix 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, pepper, salt, garlic, sugar and oregano.
  8. Sprinkle the vinaigrette over the salad.
  9. Decorate the salad with the olives.
  10. Enjoy!
