Ingredients
  • groundnut oil (for frying)
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 250g lean beef mince (or pork mince if your prefer)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pinch ground coriander
  • 1 pinch ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder
  • ½ teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 sachet dry chicken noodle soup
  • soy sauce
  • 1 knob butter
  • ½ savoy cabbage, finely shredded
  • 2 packets of 3 minute noodles
Instructions
  1. Get a wok or a frying pan. Heat 2 tablespoons of groundnut oil on medium heat. Add the onion and fry for about 5 minutes until it is softened.
  2. Add the mince. Brown the mince, and break up any lumps. Add salt, pepper, coriander, cumin, five spice and ginger. Cook for a few minutes.
  3. Add the dry soup sachet and some soy. Turn the heat low and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Get a saucepan with a lid. Melt the butter, and add the cabbage. Add 100ml water, stir well. Put the lid on and cook on low heat for 10 minutes.
  5. Boil the noodles for 3 minutes, then drain. Add the noodles and add to the meat.
  6. Drain the cabbage and add to the meat. Stir well and cook for another 5 minutes.
Notes
Serve with extra soy sauce on the side!
